5K & 10k Training Program

 

5K Beginners is a training program designed for new runners or individuals who wish to return after a running hiatus. The program is structured to help you cross the finish line of a 5K (3.1 miles) race in just 10 weeks. 

The program not only includes a training plan, but an experienced coach and a team atmosphere filled with positive camaraderie. Schedules and formats may vary by location to reflect your local community, but the common theme and focus is to make YOU a happier, more active person! Group training sessions help to build your stamina and keep you motivated. Educational clinics cover topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. 

5K Advanced/10K is perfect for runners who desire to improve their 5k/10k times or compete at a longer distance and increase their knowledge and love of running.  A variety of training techniques will be incorporated in this 10-week program to help improve your speed, strength, and running economy.  Your coach and mentors will work to carefully balance mileage and speed work to help you avoid injury and race your best! 

Program includes:

  • Coached group workouts 2 days per week
  • Running form instruction by our certified Good Form Running specialist
  • Educational clinics
  • Optional strength training clinic with our certified personal trainer 
  • 1-year Fleet Feet Running Club membership provides additional group runs and club perks
  • Limited to 100 participants!

Training begins: Monday, September 18, 2017 at 5:45 p.m.

Schedule: Mondays & Thursdays at 5:45 p.m.

Coaches: Bill Marinello & Tom Jablonowski (Beginners 5K) & Dale Broomhead (Advanced 5K/10K)
